We would like to welcome everyone to our blog. Here, you will be able to find out what we have been doing and learning in our class.
Since September we have learned about lots of new things:
OUR EGYPTIAN PROJECT
We made Tutankhamun masks in Art.
We learned about Mummies, Pyramids, the Sahara Desert, the Pharaohs and the Gods.
We got to compose raps about Mummies.

OUR FARMING PROJECT
We learned about cattle, sheep, grains, machinery, dairy, farm safety and the history of farming.
We made farms from shoe-boxes and we made our own butter with lots of shaking.
HALLOWEEN
We made Halloween Pumpkin Cake pops.
We wrote Spooky Stories in groups.
We learned the song ‘This is Halloween’.
For Art we designed and painted masks.
In Science we made Bat Planes and tested them to see how far they could fly.
CHRISTMAS
Coming up to Christmas we were all really busy and excited.
We practised our lines and songs for our Christmas Concert with Ms. Tierney’s 1st & 2nd. We had a fantastic night! Our Reader’s Theatre was ‘Bob the Goofy Reindeer’. We illustrated the story and recorded ourselves reading over it.
In Art we made paper baubles, snow globes out of recycled glass jars, Christmas Cards, we gave Santa a beard made out of popcorn, we made snowflakes from cotton buds and we used our hand prints to make robins.
Santa visited us and gave us selection boxes.

We also completed projects on Christmas Around the World. We researched lots of information about Christmas in France, Australia, Sweden, Poland, England, Romania & Ireland.
We hope you have enjoyed reading about 2016 in our class and we would like to wish you a Happy New Year.
